“Victor or Power to the Children” has no less than for UNITER Awards this year, given during the gala which took place on the 28th of April at the Târgu-Mureș Palace of Culture. (The UNITER Jury was made up of critics Andreea Dumitru, Ionuţ Sociu şi Sebastian-Vlad Popa.)
A production of the Cluj Hungarian State Theatre, “Victor or Power to the Children” by Roger Vitrac was awarded for Best Show, Best Director(Silviu Purcărete), Best actor in a secondary role(Zsolt Bogdan as Charles Paumelle) and Best Actress in a secondary role (Csilla Albert as Esther). The show will be performed on the 25th and 26th of October at the Bulandra Theatre.
The study-show that is Gianina Cărbunariu’s “Typographic Capital Letters” was awared the Special Award for documentary theatre. “Typographic Capital Letters” is a coproduction of dramAcum and the International Theatre Festival of Nitra, Slovakia, in partnership with the Odeon Theatre of Bucharest. It will be performed on the 28th and 29th of October at the Odeon Theatre. “I don’t leave much room for chance when I chose my collaborators. Given that many times the rehearsals for my shows don’t begin with a script reading, but with documentation and discussions, this part may be quite confusing for the actors formed in a system in which things are clear and set in stone”, Gianina Cărbunariu said of the actors she works with in an interview for the NTF website.
For his role in “The Tót Family”, Valer Dellakeza received the award for Best Actor in a Secondary Role: “The Tót Family” by Örkeny István, directed by Bocsárdi Laszló, is a production of the „Marin Sorescu” National Theatre of Craiova. It will be performed on the 29th and 30th of October at the Bucharest National Theatre.
For her role as Elmire, Orgon’s wife, in “Tartuffe or the Impostor” by Molière, Nicoleta Hâncu received the UNITER Best Actress in a Secondary Role Award. The show, whose stage direction was provided by Victor Ioan Frunză, will be performed on the 27th and 28th of October at the Metropolis Theatre.
“Parallel”, created by Lucia Mărneanu and Leta Popescu was distinguished with the UNITER Debut award. “Parallel” is a GroundFloor Group and ColectivA, Cluj-Napoca coporoduction. It will be performed on the 1st and 2nd of November at the Odeon Theatre.
