The “Nicolae Bălcescu” Passage situated at the University subway station is prepared for the theatrical celebration that will take place on the occasion of the 24th edition of the National Theatre Festival. An article by Judy Florescu. Here, on the 24th, 27th, 28th, 29th, 30th and 31st of October, the public may receive autographs from artists such as Margareta Pâslaru, Coca Bloos, Marius Manole, Răzvan Mazilu, Vlad Ivanov, George Mihăiţă şi Claudiu Bleonţ. “The Actors Sing”, a charity project initiated by Margareta Pâslaru. Beginning on Thursday, the 23rd of October, up until the 31st of October, Miss Pâslaru may be found at the NTF stand in the University Passageway, from 16.00 to 19.00, where she will be giving autographs on the “The Actors Sing” album, a CD sold for 20 RON for the benefit of the “Artists for Artists” National Campaign. Margareta Pâslaru spoke on the NTF website about the idea of the album and about the purpose of this musical document: “This idea haunted me for quite some time and at some point I told myself it’s not enough for me to be the one who donates the copyrights, as I have since 1993. I felt the need for there to be more of us. The first to show real enthusiasm towards the idea and to encourage me was actress Emilia Popescu”. Margareta Pâslaru also said that through this CD other actors may be helped, ones who retired from the stage, because of health issues. “The joy and the pleasure the people who worked with me transmitted was what impressed me most. There are 20 songs in total, performed by 14 actors. The criterion I used for choosing them was not one of voice but of vocal range. The range was special, and each of us chose whatever song we liked. We recorded in the studios of Jolt and Andrei Kerestely. An extraordinarily talented young man, Călin Grigoriu, was the one who re-orchestrated many of the tracks. It was an amazing energy exchange and now we’re waiting for feedback. We already sold 3,000 copies it seems, which is very good. It all goes to the Theatrical Solidarity Fund, <> by UNITER”, Margareta Pâslaru added. Margareta Pâslaru will be at the NTF stand daily. The actors who joined Margareta Pâslaru’s initiative are: Emilia Popescu, Marius Bodochi, Rodica Mandache, Mihai Bisericanu, Maria Buză, Marius Manole, Ovidiu Niculescu, Silviu Biriş, Corina Chiriac, Anca Sigartău, Mirela Jienescu, Gelu Niţu şi Florin Zamfirescu, whose voices you can find on the CD of “The Actors Sing”. Tania Popa giving autographs to the fans in the NTF Passageway. “I think this event to be wonderful ( Night of famous signatures, NTF meetings) ,because the public has the opportunity to see us as we really are, relaxed since we don’t have any lines to say and because we don’t have to act onstage .With this opportunity, people can truly meet the actors, because I realise that if you’re not on TV it’s hard to be recognised”. The “Night of famous signatures” means theatre artists meeting their viewers, who will also be able to receive autographs. The next meetings shall be on: 24th of October, 5.00 PM (Coca Bloos), Monday, 27th of October, 5.00 PM (Marius Manole), Tuesday (28th of October, 5.00 PM (Răzvan Mazilu), Wednesday, 29th of October, 5.00 PM (Vlad Ivanov), Thursday, 30th of October, 5.00 PM (George Mihăiţă), Friday 31st of October, 5.00 PM (Claudiu Bleonţ ), Click here to see the Photo Gallery Photos: Lucian Muntean 24th of October 2014
