Ten shows, sold out at the NTF

Of the 46 different shows one can see this year at the NTF, ten have already sold out, at just one week after the ticket booths opened. The productions are by some of the most well-known Romanian directors, including Andrei Șerban, Silviu Purcărete, Alexandru Dabija.

Of the 46 different shows one can see this year at the NTF, ten have already sold out, at just one week after the ticket booths opened. The productions are by some of the most well-known Romanian directors, including Andrei Șerban, Silviu Purcărete, Alexandru Dabija.

The shows for which the tickets have run out are: “The Belgrad Trilogy” (directed by Cristi Juncu, produced by the Anton Pann Theatre, Râmnicu Vâlcea), “The Tót Family” (directed by Bocsárdi Laszló, produced by the „Marin Sorescu” Național Theatre, Craiova), „Cabaret” (by Răzvan Mazilu, Timişoara German State Theatre), „The New Tenant” (directed by Mihaela Panainte, Baia Mare Municipal Theatre), „Victor or Power to the Children!” (directed by Silviu Purcărete, produced by the Hungarian State Theatre of Cluj), „Oidip” (directed by Silviu Purcărete,produced by the „Radu Stanca” National Theatre Sibiu), „Ivanov” (directed by Andrei Șerban, produced by the L.S. Bulandra Theatre ,București), „Well…what are we talking about here anyway?” (directed by Alexandru Dabija, produced by the ACT Theatre, Bucharest), „The Cello Lessona” (directed by Felix Alexa, produced by the Metropolis Theatre ,Bucharest) și „The Human Voice” (directed by Sanda Manu, the Metropolis Theatre ,Bucharest).

This year, two of director Silviu Purcărete’s shows can be seen within the festival; the same with choreographer Răzvan Mazilu, who created “Cabaret” in Timisoara, and who will be working on the “West Side Story” Musical /an NTF in-house production- which will be performed on the 25th and the 26th of October at the Odeon Theatre.

Of the ten sold-out shows, four are from Bucharest and two (“Ivanov” and “The Human Voice”) are part of the Masters Category, which is dedicated to the most valuable names of Romanian Theatre. “In Bucharest there are shows which have been played for at least 10 years, which shows us that caring for art means to cherish and to value” ,Marina Constantinescu, artistic director of the NTF, said about this new festival category.

The ticked for shows within the NTF may be purchased through the theatre booths of affiliated theatres, as well as online through the Eventim network /on www.eventim.ro and www.bilet.ro (for shows performed at the National Theatre of Bucharest).
