class="">The 24th edition of the National Theatre Festival begins

The 24^th edition of the International Theatre Festival has officially begun tonight- an edition of opening the world of theatre towards new spaces of manifestation, be they virtual or concrete, towards new friends and new ideas.

The event will take place beginning with 21.30, in the Small Hall foyer of the “I.L.Caragiale” National Theatre of Bucharest. It shall be an event of high standards (dress code: semi-formal) ,attended by important celebrities of the local and international cultural scene.

We’ll all be there for a great creator of the Romanian Stage, Doina Levintza, at the Grand Opening of the “Theatrical Costume / from drawing board to miracle” Exhibition. With a fascinating career that harmoniously divides itself between the vast array of theatre, film and television set design, as well as in fashion, the tireless artist signed the scenic concept for the shows of some of the greatest Romanian directors: Lucian Pintilie, Liviu Ciulei, György Harag, Andrei Şerban, Cornel Todea, Mihai Măniuţiu. This exhibition tried to evoke the remarkable path traversed under the wings of imagination, from an idea on the drawing board, to a sketch, which will materialise itself ,finally, in the fabulous theatrical costume. A necessary retrospective ,with which the National Theatre Festival will open its gates widely to the concrete-magical world of theatre.

Ten days of celebration follow, in which artists from throughout the country and the world will bring joy unto the stages of Bucharest and to every other meeting place which the Festival created, to share the emotion linked with the art of theatre- in as varied and as refined a way of perceiving, of knowing, of communicating as possible.
