Acestea au determinat, \u00eens\u0103 \u0219i o emula\u021bie a c\u0103ut\u0103rilor arti\u0219tilor din \u00eentreag\u0103 \u021bar\u0103 spre noi forme, expresii, mijloace de a ilustra problematicile sf\u00e2r\u0219itului de secol, complicate \u2013 local \u2013 de marea zbuciumat\u0103 a tranzi\u021biei rom\u00e2ne\u0219ti, at\u00e2t de atipic\u0103&#8230; Semn c\u0103 teatrul revenea \u00een Cetate cu \u201ep\u00e2nzele sus\u201d, permi\u021b\u00e2nd metaforei teatrale s\u0103 dea satisfac\u021bie nu doar specialistului, ci \u0219i cet\u0103\u021beanului de r\u00e2nd \u2013 \u201eturmentat\u201d de noile realit\u0103\u021bi \u0219i de mecanismele societ\u0103\u021bii postcomunite, \u00een plin\u0103 \u0219i turbulent\u0103 formare. E important c\u0103 mai toate spectacolele tind c\u0103tre un realism expresiv, substan\u0163ial, \u00een metafore \u015fi hiperbole bogate \u00een sensuri. Chemarea f\u0103cut\u0103 publicului de a decodifica \u015fi de a s\u0103v\u00eer\u015fi exegeze ale conota\u0163iilor posibile creeaz\u0103, \u00een sal\u0103, o stare de fervoare intelectual\u0103. O stare \u00eentre\u0163inut\u0103 \u015fi de efortul arti\u015ftilor de a face simplitatea nefamiliar\u0103 \u015fi elocven\u0163a nedeclamatorie \u2013 cum zicea un teatrolog str\u0103in. O atare manifestare festivalier\u0103, at\u00eet de dens\u0103 \u015fi de ata\u015fant\u0103, na\u015fte nu numai comuniuni pasagere fertile cu publicul, ci contribuie \u015fi la organizarea unei con\u015ftiin\u0163e formale specifice epocii, model\u00eend gustul pentru modernitate.<\/i>\u201d <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>VALENTIN SILVESTRU \u2013 O considera\u0163ie global\u0103\u201d \u2013 Revista Teatrul Azi, nr.12\/1993<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u00cen acela\u0219i spirit, al dezvolt\u0103rii organice, \u00een 1993 a ap\u0103rut \u015fi \u00eent\u00e2iul selec\u0163ioner unic al spectacolelor prezentate \u00een FNT, \u00een persoana regretatului critic Cristina Dumitrescu \u2013 membru \u00een comitetele de organizare al Festivalului \u0219i chiar Director al edi\u021biei precedente. Festivalul \u00ee\u0219i p\u0103streaz\u0103 \u0219i \u00een acest an formula competitiv\u0103, dar cu semnificativ mai pu\u021bine premii \u0219i f\u0103r\u0103 derutantul fenomen al <i>ex-equo<\/i>-urilor din primii trei ani. Semn al unei structur\u0103ri mult mai \u00eenchegate.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Iat\u0103 cum definea acela\u0219i rafinat critic Valentin Silvestru noile tendin\u021be, desprinse din<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>analiza detaliilor ce au compus marele peisaj oferit de spectacolele prezentate \u00een FNT 1994:<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201e<i>Intrat pe canalele mass-media, un festival devine obiect cultural \u015fi, \u00een subsidiar, subiect de specula\u0163ii m\u0103runte cu caracter cancanier. El e \u00eens\u0103 e\u015fantionul de teatralitate a unui moment dat. Iar dac\u0103 e vertebrat pe o idee, propune o dezbatere consecvent\u0103. Festivalul \u201eI.L. Caragiale\u201d se propune ca o confruntare a valorilor. \u015ei ca un indice al stadiului artistic existent. <\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><i>Ce am deduce din operele scenice reunite \u00een a patra sa edi\u0163ie? Asist\u0103m la \u00eembinarea, \u00een sintez\u0103 scenic\u0103, a unor elemente ce confer\u0103 o nou\u0103 complexitate. <\/i><b>Ghetou<\/b><i> invedereaz\u0103 o tectonic\u0103 dinamic\u0103, s\u0103 zic a\u015fa, a crea\u0163iilor incluse, realizat\u0103 impresionant prin aparatura mobil\u0103 a Teatrului Na\u0163ional. Muzica nu mai e ilustrativ\u0103, nici atmosferizant\u0103, ci o component\u0103 dramatic\u0103: soli\u015ftii s\u00eent personajele ce-\u015fi c\u00eent\u0103 dramele, corul e expresia unei for\u0163e morale de rezisten\u0163\u0103, pianista iese din mul\u0163ime \u015fi reintr\u0103 \u00een ea ca figurant distinct. Scenografia propune costume \u015fi, apoi, \u00eentr-o defilare uimitoare, vestimenta\u0163ii grote\u015fti ce evoc\u0103 destine anonime \u015fi infinite tragedii. Victor Ioan Frunz\u0103 orchestreaz\u0103 toate mijloacele la nivelul de pregnan\u0163\u0103 al unui oratoriu m\u0103re\u0163. <\/i><b>Titus Andronicus<\/b><i> (\u00een afara concursului), <\/i><b>Phaedra<i>, <\/i>Decameronul<\/b><i>, crea\u0163ii ale lui Silviu Purc\u0103rete, aduc puternice constituente ritualice. Ritualul e, prin esen\u0163\u0103, un mesaj al ancestralit\u0103\u0163ii. \u015ei o form\u0103 colectiv\u0103 de invoca\u0163ie. Ori de exorcism. Sau de celebrare. Regizorul se va bizui, deci, \u00een realizarea sintezei dintre modalitatea ritualic\u0103 \u015fi factorii moderni de stimuli idea\u0163ionali, pe grup. \u00cel or\u00eenduie\u015fte exemplar \u00een <\/i><b>Titus<\/b><i> \u2013 o armat\u0103 teuton\u0103 de ilo\u0163i \u2013 , \u00eel construie\u015fte insolit, cu gnomi bisexua\u0163i, sau cu efebi, \u00een<\/i> <b>Phaedra<\/b><i>, \u00eel formeaz\u0103 \u00eentr-o viziune naturist\u0103, de impuls vital, \u00een <\/i><b>Decameronul<\/b><i>. \u00abTeatrul nu poate exista dec\u00e2t ca efort \u00een grup\u00bb \u2013 scria regizorul, \u00eentr-o m\u0103rturie de acum zece ani. Pentru el, mitul e o monad\u0103 artistic\u0103. (&#8230;) \u00cen <\/i><b>Richard III<\/b><i>, Mihai M\u0103niu\u0163iu introduce module de teatru oriental. Ele nu s\u00eent \u00eens\u0103 doar decorative, ci noduli etiologici: explic\u0103 raporturi, duc la r\u0103d\u0103cina cauzalit\u0103\u0163ilor. (&#8230;) Mihai M\u0103niu\u0163iu istoricizeaz\u0103 nebuloasa ac\u0163iune shakespearean\u0103 c\u0103ut\u00eend a plasticiza un climat al arbitrariului absolut. El ne prezint\u0103 \u2013 prin inspira\u0163ie din Jan Kott, poate \u2013 un mecanism istoric ce trimite la toate formele de despotism. Ceva asem\u0103n\u0103tor a c\u0103utat \u015fi Dominic Dembinski \u00een <\/i><b>Ar\u015fi\u0163a \u015fi viscolul<\/b><i>, implic\u00eend \u00eens\u0103 prea multe semne \u015fi f\u0103c\u00eend referiri la prea diferite substraturi. \u015ei-apoi aici, piesa, o comedie satiric\u0103 atroce, s-a opus viziunii regizorale \u2013 \u00een fond. A rezultat, scenic, o dram\u0103 politic\u0103, nu f\u0103r\u0103 interes, dar disip\u00eend aten\u0163ia spre zone diferite, actorii (cu excep\u0163ia protagonistului) neav\u00eend puterea de a da reverberan\u0163\u0103 simbolurilor. Toat\u0103 reprezenta\u0163ia cu<\/i> <b>Sam<\/b><i> (Cluj) e construit\u0103 sub acoperi\u015ful unei utopii, de factur\u0103 artistic\u0103 expresionist\u0103, ce putea da o acut\u0103 socialitate lumii din scen\u0103. \u015ei istoricitate, \u00een arc larg. Amalgamul stilistic \u2013 edulcor\u0103ri sentimentaloide, tablouri agitatorice, scene de alcov sleit, momente pasionale pe schele metalice \u2013 au desfigurat spectacolul. El a devenit anistoric \u015fi anartistic. (&#8230;) O parabol\u0103 scenic\u0103 de fason gra\u0163ios e <\/i><b>Leg\u0103turi primejdioase<\/b><i> (Chi\u015fin\u0103u); primejdia inautenticit\u0103\u0163ii planeaz\u0103 asupra tuturor personajelor. Sub maniere colc\u0103ie viciul; sub declara\u0163ii ceremonioase, patima; sub jur\u0103minte \u015fi f\u0103g\u0103duieli, abandonul la\u015f sau turpid; sub afirma\u0163ii se ascunde t\u0103gada. Ni se ofer\u0103 un binoclu pentru a privi o lume. Cu o pereche de lentile el ne-o \u00eendep\u0103rteaz\u0103, \u00eentr-un spa\u0163iu ce nu ne e propice. Cu cealalt\u0103 pereche ne apropie aceast\u0103 lume \u015fi ne-o arat\u0103 dezgolit\u0103. C\u0103t\u0103lina Buzoianu redescoper\u0103 esen\u0163ele literaturii lui Matei Vi\u015fniec. <\/i><b>Teatru descompus<\/b> <i>e o alc\u0103tuire for\u0163at\u0103. Se unesc, factice, specii diferite: monolog, dialog, scenet\u0103. Colajul e, desigur, posibil, exemple s\u00eent numeroase. Aici e \u00eens\u0103 \u015fi ambi\u0163ia de a crea conversa\u0163ie \u00eentre monologuri paralele, r\u00eevnindu-se la impresia de convorbire. Dar aceasta e \u00eentre surzi. Prelungirea ei obose\u015fte, c\u0103ci e minat\u0103 de o a\u015fteptare \u00een van. E, \u00een crea\u0163ia regizoral\u0103, un aspect captivant, datorat c\u0103l\u0103uzirii actorilor spre o privire \u00een\u0103untrul fenomenelor suflete\u015fti. Novalis considera ochiul, organul de vorbire al sentimentelor. \u00cen <\/i><b>Teatru descompus<\/b><i> nu s\u00eent sentimente, ci false afecte, denun\u0163ate ca atare, dezghiocate de aparen\u0163e, cu fine\u0163e. \u015ei st\u0103ri: de angoas\u0103, panic\u0103, spaim\u0103, teroare, ne\u00een\u0163elegere. Mai \u00eent\u00eei, ni\u015fte clarific\u0103ri. \u00cen timp ce dramaturgii acuz\u0103 teatrele c\u0103 nu le joac\u0103 opera, de\u015fi ea exist\u0103, teatrele \u00eei acuz\u0103 pe dramaturgi c\u0103 nu scriu \u015fi, c\u0103 atare, nu poate fi jucat ceea ce nu exist\u0103. Era de clarificat acest lucru: exist\u0103 sau nu exist\u0103 dramaturgie jucabil\u0103? Dac\u0103 exist\u0103, de ce nu se joac\u0103? Dac\u0103 nu exist\u0103, de ce nu se scrie? \u00centruc\u00eet piese exist\u0103 \u015fi unele chiar se joac\u0103, era de ref\u0103cut comunicarea dintre scriitori \u015fi teatre (directori, secretari<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>literari, regizori).<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>(&#8230;) Trei dezbateri substan\u0163iale au avut loc \u015fi la UNITER pe teme ale &#8220;tranzi\u0163iei&#8221;: 1 . <\/i><b><i>Teatrele na\u0163ionale<\/i><\/b><i>, 2<\/i><b><i>. Revenirea la clasici<\/i><\/b><i> \u015fi 3<\/i><b><i>. Protagonistul acestei produc\u021bii (antologice) \u2013 actorul Marcel Iure\u0219 \u2013 a fost, de asemenea, laureat cu Premiul \u201eCostache Aristia\u201d, pentru cea mai bun\u0103 interpretare masculin\u0103. <\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><i>\u00cemi amintesc gluma u\u0219or lugubr\u0103 a lui Ion Besoiu, dup\u0103 ce spectacolul meu cu <\/i>Tulburarea apelor<i> de Blaga a fost interzis de cenzur\u0103, \u00een anul 1983: \u00abAvantajul e c\u0103 nimeni nu \u021bi-a v\u0103zut spectacolul, a\u0219a c\u0103 po\u021bi sus\u021bine c\u0103 era genial\u00bb. <\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Richard III<i> a fost v\u0103zut, \u00een schimb, de foarte mult\u0103 lume, \u00eenainte de a fi suprimat brutal (dup\u0103 un turneu triumfal \u00een Marea Britanie \u0219i nominalizarea la cel mai bun spectacol \u00een turneu, \u00een Marea Britanie) de c\u0103tre un Minister al Culturii, pe-atunci, complet abulic \u0219i de c\u0103tre al\u021bi \u00abtovar\u0103\u0219i\u00bb din forurile culturale bucure\u0219tene, prin abuziva concediere a lui Alexandru Dabija, care era directorul Teatrului Odeon \u0219i, \u00een fapt, arhitectul acestui proiect, \u00een cadrul c\u0103ruia eu am fost regizor.<\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><i>Ce pot spune despre un spectacol care are doar martori indirec\u021bi \u2013 \u0219i spectatori care sunt trecu\u021bi de 45-50 de ani? <\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><i>Ei bine, pot spune c\u0103 acest spectacol a fost unul dintre pu\u021binele unde nu a existat nicio fisur\u0103 \u00een corpul echipei. Da, e ceva! Deoarece am sim\u021bit, ani de-a r\u00e2ndul, afec\u021biunea actorilor \u0219i a tehnicienilor implica\u021bi \u00een spectacol. Am f\u0103cut ceva pentru care am fost iubit de cei care erau parte din proiect. Din acest unghi, <\/i>Richard III<i> este una dintre cele mai semnificative \u00eent\u00e2mpl\u0103ri din via\u021ba mea. Fluxul benefic al acestui spectacol a creat prietenii \u0219i iubiri care au \u021binut o via\u021b\u0103, sau aproape o via\u021b\u0103.<\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><i>\u0218i \u00eemi voi aminti \u00eentotdeauna aplauzele de la final, c\u00e2nd m\u0103 \u00eentrebam: \u00abOare cei care bat din palme, din picioare \u0219i scandeaz\u0103 numele actorilor, au asistat la o reprezenta\u021bie cu <\/i>Richard III<i> sau la un spectacol rock, care le-a mers la inim\u0103 \u0219i nu mai vor, pur \u0219i simplu nu mai vor s\u0103 plece din teatru&#8230;?\u00bb\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n<h5 data-fontsize=\"12\" data-lineheight=\"18\"><em>* Dat\u0103 fiind amploarea Festivalului Na\u021bional de Teatru, derulat pe parcursul a trei decenii, am decis s\u0103 oferim \u00een actuala edi\u021bie o serie de repere generale din aceast\u0103 istorie remarcabil\u0103.
