At night, in a meat-packing factory! The images may as well be part of a documentary about those people we never see who take care of things we don’t usually think about. People burdened by problems and sadness… but it’s actually way more than this… it’s a story about the dreams they don’t dare to dream, about love stories they don’t manage to fulfil, about fragmented thoughts that form bridges of caring, somewhere in a dirty warehouse where there is no place for sensitivity. „Beyond Caring” by Alexander Zeldin, directed by Sânziana Stoican, is a story about common people, those we see in the subway, in buses, at the pharmacy or on the street, those we usually pass by with indifference. We meet them in this simple yet profoundly humane story, caught in an extrem situation, all of them fighting with their last breath to survive. Through their struggle, their candour in getting close to each other, through the beauty of their half-spoken thoughts, we can see beneath the surface and discover life’s shades and colours.
