Performing Austria & Romania, the dialogue of performing arts from the two countries
The performance UNION PLACE – A SHORT TRILOGY is one of the most ambitious theatrical co-production realised in recent years under the aegis of ETC – European Theater Convention. The complexity of its realisation, which involved creative resources from three major theatrical institutions in three countries, meant that the show will only have a limited number of performances. The guests of the talk CREATING (A) “UNION PLACE” – Elise Wilk, playwright, Alexandru Weinberger-Bara, director, Codruța Popov, artistic advisor, NTTm – will talk about the diversity of challenges such a process faces. These will include cultural and linguistic elements, differentiated working methods, the reception of a multilingual creation, the relationship with the audience.
The production UNION PLACE – O SCURTĂ TRILOGIE is an important case study on the development of new ways of European theatrical cooperation with an impact both within the theatrical community and but also in the strengthening of continental cohesion.
