The director Theodor Cristian Popescu invites us inside the heart of a relationship that seen from the outside could seem like a perfect one. She’s a doctor, he’s an architect, they have two children and a modern home. But the balance within their family life is put to the test when his ex-girlfriend shows up at their door at midnight.
”We literally descend in between the entrails of a mid-life couple. Inside their words unsaid, their secret thoughts, their fierce fight to keep things alive, their cowardice and an idealised and ridiculed view of the past – personified by the ex. Inside their shame. Inside their heroic attempts to cope with all deflections from their initial life projects. To cope with displacement. To even stand each other.” (Theodor-Cristian Popescu)
