Does the current Romanian theatrical landscape allow us to identify certain aesthetic tendencies/trends or, on the contrary, is it dominated by a freedom in which each creator has his own direction? Are these tendencies necessary in a world of unpredictability and unforeseeability, of hybridity and dissolution of the boundaries between art forms, or do they stem from the old-fashioned ambition to organise and control art? Is anyone today influential enough in Romanian theatre that they can generate a trend? Why do we choose these themes and not others? Why do we choose these aesthetics and not others? How concerned are we on originality and how prone have we become to alignment? How much freedom do we have and what are we willing to do with it?
