“Radu Afrim’s show is a broad poem of missed chances, of divided existences, of disappearances of all kinds, of the gaping in yawns ever more unsettling…. Hence, a story about man, time and fragility. (Nicoleta Munteanu)

“It’s a game I can’t get enough of, this game where I put together texts from talented writers who – apparently – have nothing in common. I’ve received many texts in which disappearance appeared. It appeared and disappeared. I kept those texts in which disappearance persists. I sat down with actors for days, sorting out short prose. We are now the possessors of a collection of disappearances. The most beautiful disappearances. Who needs it?
From the bleakest disappearance (the life of a little girl in a village in northeastern Romania) to the most absurdly dated (the disappearance of pipes working under Ceaușescu from inside the bellies of our citizens), the anthology we are compiling before the eyes of the audience can anticipate, provoke nostalgia, haunt and discourage fans of the palpable when they are told that only memory saves us from disappearance.” (Radu Afrim)
