October 22nd | 19:00 – Excelsior Theatre, Ion Lucian Hall

“Two hours with intermission is a show about the vulnerability of the education system, about the fragility of students and teachers. Two hours with intermission is a demonstration of directing and acting excellence, because it humorously portrays, in a way that captivates the audience, serious problems of Romanian education”. Without pretending that we can make an evaluation of the Romanian educational system, we tried to ask a few questions. The main source of inspiration for this fictional stage production, on which the script was written while working were the discussions we had with literature teachers across the country, especially the ones coming from the pre-university environment.
“The play between text and subtext, skillfully woven in Gianina Cărbunariu’s plays, always gains strength through the way in which the author knows how to cohere the group of actors – a very good one at Excelsior! – as well as carefully and surely controlling the staging dynamics. The message and the tone of the message are resonant, they have a necessary and clear performative synergy. They make sense together”. – Corina Șuteu, 22 Magazine
