NTF 2012: Ta Ra Ta Tam

Caragiale via Căciuleanu in the opening of the 22nd edition

In less than a month, 32 shows grouped in six sections will be performed on nine stages of the capital city! More relevant than the figures, the fictional worlds presented to the audience in this edition may all be placed under the sign of the “live, affectionate, hot” theater craved by Caragiale and, after all, by each member of the audience.

The National Theater Festival will, as a matter of fact, begin on the stage that bears the name of the playwright celebrated in 2012. Friday, 26 October, at 18, the Grand Hall of I.L. Caragiale National Theater in Bucharest will host Ta Ra Ta Tam, an original show that, on its premiere, took by surprise even those already familiar with the unclassifiable world of Gigi Căciuleanu. Danced by young actors, members ofGigi Căciuleanu Romania Dance company, Ta Ra Ta Tam makes an old dream of the Romanian-born choreographer come true, rewriting in the innovative language of “choreographic theater” that he practices typologies and significant relations from Caragiale’s works. The show is produced in partnership with I.L. Caragiale National Theater (under the auspices of Ion Sava Center for Theatrical Research and Creation) and Art Production Foundation, with support from JTI and the National Library of Romania.

We invite you to read the program of the shows that will be performed between 26 October and 4 November in the following venues: Bucharest National Theater, Bucharest National Opera, Odeon Theater, Bulandra Theater, Metropolis Theater, ArCuB, ACT Theater,Nicolae Bălcescu Cultural Center for UNESCO, LaScena Club.

Last but not least, we also invite you to follow us on Facebook and Twitter.
