“How it’s made”: a great show.

Open rehearsals at the National Theater Festival

Following very encouraging feedback received by the “Young people at rehearsals” project, initiated at the last edition by LiterNet.ro website in partnership with the NTF, several performances included in the present edition will be preceded by open rehearsals for high-school and undergraduate theater fans.

Thus, the NTF grants to young spectators the privilege to watch the backstage of some of last season’s greatest shows, see how great stage directors like Andrei Șerban and Gigi Căciuleanu, but also their younger colleague Radu Alexandru Nica, work, how the energies of a company are recalibrated depending on the coordinates of a new acting space, and how some of the best actors in the country prepare for the shows.

The following titles are included in the program: Mess Around (Bucharest National Theater) directed by Gigi Căciuleanu, which opens the NTF, Hedda Gabler by Henrik Ibsen (Hungarian State Theater in Cluj) and Lear(a)by William Shakespeare (Bulandra Theater), both directed by Andrei Şerban, as well as SEXes/AXes – The Furies & The Great War by Neil LaBute (German State Theater in Timişoara), directed by Radu Alexandru Nica.
