For the first time, at this 25th edition, the National Theatre Festival will be present not only on the stages in Bucharest, but also in other Romanian cities and abroad.
Three of the most impatiently expected NTF performances will be presented in live transmissions offered by Grand Cinema & More. For the first time, theatre lovers in five Romanian cities will have the opportunity to watch „Mein Kampf”, „The Star Without a Name” and „BUFFALOS Urban Fable #2” in the following locations: Cityplex Constanţa, Cinema Trivale Piteşti, Cityplex Braşov, Central University Library in Timişoara and, of course, the Grand Cinema & More Băneasa Bucharest.
Through the highly important partnership with the Romanian Cultural Institute, theatregoers with an interest in Romanian theatre from London, Vienna and Kishinev will have the privilege to be in direct contact with the lively stage of the Bucharest event, by watching live broadcasts at the Romanian Cultural Institutes in Vienna and in London and inside the Grand Hall of the National Theatre „Mihai Eminescu” in Kishinev.
„We started the project with Grand Cinema & More last year, when we broadcasted a single presentation of the National Theatre Craiova’s performance of “The Rhinoceros”, and will continue this year, gaining a national and international dimension”, so NTF director, Marina Constantinescu. „New is the presentation of the broadcasted performances in unconventional locations, as well as the screenings outside of Romania of three important productions of the 2015-2015 season, a contribution of the Romanian Cultural Institute”.
The series of live broadcasts will start on October 23rd, at 20:00, with „Mein Kampf” (picture above) by George Tabori, directed by Alexandru Dabija, a production of the “Lucian Blaga” National Theatre Cluj-Napoca, hosted by the Grand Hall of the “I. L. Caragiale” National Theatre Bucharest, the opening performance of the National Theatre Festival.
Broadcasts will continue on Friday, October 30th, at 19.00, with „The Star Without a Name” (photo) by Mihail Sebastian, staged by Victor Ioan Frunză, at the European Centre for UNESCO Bucharest.
