19 October 2015,  Press Releases

Starting on Monday, October 17th, and for the following two weeks, the University Passage becomes again the NTF Passage.

We warmly invite you to pass by and discover the information and the “temptations” of the 26th National Theatre Festival, to watch the video moments dedicated to the festival on the screens that line up the passage, to get a glimpse of theatre history, evoked by the exhibitions presented, to slow your pace and have a look at the books on the stands of the partner publishing houses.

In a crowded place, with hurried passers-by, the NTF Passage offers the image of a world, builds connecting bridges between audiences and performances of the present and past editions of the National Theatre Festival.

Along the corridors that cross the passage, two exhibitions reconstruct a landscape of theatrical memory.

Produced in 2014 by the National Theatre Festival, the exhibition dedicated to actor George Constantin, Peerless Professor, hail unto thee!, to his lifelong creative effort, becomes a path of cultural memory for so many of the passers-by through the collection of pictures from performances or his personal archive,.

The space hosts a second photography exhibition, signed by Maria Ștefănescu and Sorin Radu. The exhibition has been created for the 2007 edition of the festival (the end of Marina Constantinescu’s first mandate as artistic director) and comprises pictures from the performances presented at the 2005, 2006 and 2007 editions of the NTF.

On the large screens, you can watch the „The Complete Walk”, a series produced by the Shakespeare’s Globe, Great Britain, as part of „Shakespeare Lives”, a program presented in Romania by The British Council. The Complete Walkis ajourney through Shakespeare’s 37 plays, a series of short films featuring some of the best actors worldwide/ James Norton, Gemma Arterton, Dominic West, Simon Russell Beale.

Adevărul Live NTF interviews are also to be seen on the NFT Passage screens, Mondays to Fridays between 11.00 and 14.00, as well as the MyStage interviews with NTF artists and excerpts from the performances in the festival program.

Book stands of the publishing houses Romanian Cultural Institute, Casa Radio, Nemira, Adevărul, Tracus Arte are present with a selection of theatre books and art albums.

The Passage is also an info point, offering information about all festival events, performances, actors, directors, ticket availabilities and ticket purchase options, the exhibition launches, the addresses of the theatres and many details meant to ease the access of the spectators to the events of the National Theatre Festival.
