The Multimedia Dictionary of Romanian Theatre is a digital platform created to provide new professional content but also to coagulate the available online information about legendary artists and cult performances of Romanian theatres. MDRT offers quality time for an an extremely diverse audience like researchers, human studies specialists but also theatre afficionados of all ages – all will find here links to video and radio performances, vintage photos from famous performances, scanned documents from public and private archives.
The profiles of artists and performances have been put together by a complex team of over 50, including theatre specialists who wrote presentation articles from a contemporary perspective, and students of theatre universities who searched for additional information about each performance. As of right now, this dictionary project includes 100 entries.
“We worked closely with colleagues from the Babeș-Bolyai University and University of Arts in Târgu Mureș, particularly with prof. Miruna Runcan and Raluca Blaga, in order to choose the new dictionary entries, to coordinate the students and authors and to complete the multimedia profiles.” – Cristina Modreanu (MDRT curator)
