A fairy-tale about a deposed duke who becomes Prospero the Magician, and about his daughter Miranda. A comedy of illusions, an extravaganza, a text about power and revenge, The Tempest is, beyond any interpretation, a play about the power of art and imagination to create worlds. Prospero’s knowledge surpasses human laws, controls nature, masters the spirits and triggers love.
An impressive cast, with Ion Caramitru as Prospero, in a captivating staging with frantic rhythms, humor and emotion, extremely expressive and with music whose rhythms remain with the viewers long after they have exited the hall.
