What was supposed to be a relaxing holiday for two couples in the famous Mexican resort of Cancún (Reme – Vicente and Laura – Pablo, who are married and have been friends for 25 years) becomes, due to unspoken truths and secret desires, a game of “what if’?”. How would their lives have changed had the life partner been a different person, or with a different job? A subtle comedy of dialogue and situation, Cancún is at the same time a meditation on the way in which oftentimes apparently insignificant events change the course of one’s life forever. Can one still change anything, is there any chance for a new start, a new love?
