More than 70 journalists, cultural personalities, partners and special guest have honored yesterday’s press conference dedicated to the 25th edition of the National Theatre Festival, organized by UNITER at the Media Hall of the National Theatre Bucharest.

Protagonists of the conference were: Marina Constantinescu / artistic director of the festival, Aura Corbeanu / NTF executive director and Ion Caramitru / manager of the National Theatre Bucharest.

Ion Caramitru, President of  UNITER (the main organizer of the NTF), opened the floor with a speech about the 25 years of the NTF, evoking the crucial moments in the history of the event and referring to its development nowadays.

„25 years have passed not only from the Romanian revolution or the first edition of the NTF, but also from the moment when our work in theatre has been recognized as a creative one. I think this is the most important thing in our field of activity.” Ion Caramitru spoke about the Romanian actors as creators, about the relationship between creator and financer, but also about the 25 years of „quality statistics of Romanian theatre, about its syncopes, about the moments of crisis (both esthetic and the economic crisis of the country).  After all, we could say Romanian theatre keeps up to its standards, its high level of quality.”
