Whatever the famous band Tiger Lillies touches, something unique and quirky comes out, which definitely pushes boundaries. That’s exactly that happened when, under the title Shockhead Peter, they wrote the music for the 19. century children’s book Struwwelpeter by Heinrich Hoffmann. Then, Phelim Mcdermott and Julian Crouch turned it into a grotesque horror musical, brimming with dark humour. Later on, out of Parti Nagy Lajos’ word plays and his biting irony the Hungarian version was born: a junk-opera named Good Kid’s Picture Book.

The end result: vibrant, abrasive music, an enchanting world with grotesque characters, irony and lots of humour, about the murky field of educating children. Yet, no matter how murky and stuffy it might be, we will surely not sink because we are in the care of a `pedagogy teacher`. One obsessed with principles, who nags about his own beliefs, through the example of various children. This is the primordial principle of education, that is of healing; because spanking, no matter how much we try, cannot be done too many or even enough times. However, what are we supposed to do in this cute little world? How should we educate?
