The history that is taught and passed on from generation to generation addresses events from a scientific perspective, hence frequently ends up diminishing the importance of personal histories, those individual narratives that build the communities we are a part of. We also live in an age of generalised communication, in which each individual may choose their own way of relating to history, and this often gives rise to social opposition.
“MYTH SHOW: A history of distrust” explores the way in which the members of a community relate to major episodes of recent history, from the contemporaries of the peasant uprisings of 1907 to the former workers of the Săvinești Industrial Platform, who felt the full brunt of the post-communist transition, and the pupils and teachers who have recently experienced online learning.
