Public reading on Romanian texts, at the NTF

This year’s National Theatre Festival includes a short plays competition called “Local Contemporary Playwriting @ NTF 2022”. Of the 45 texts submitted, the jury including Maria Manolescu, Alina Nelega and Peca Ștefan selected 3: Neputință (Helplessness)Bolovan (Boulder) and N-am fost acolo (I haven’t been there).

“After a cumbersome selection process, we chose three thought-provoking short texts that bring up hot current topics like burnout (Alexander Hartmann –  Helplessness), education and broken families in rural areas (Anamaria Feraru – Boulder) and the trauma cuased by sexual abuse on minors (Raluca Mirescu Ungureanu – I haven’t been there). Unfortunatelly, other texts which had potential did not fit into the required length, of under 30 minutes.

Throughout October, there will be group and individual gatherings and workshops, where the selected playwrights will have the chance to discuss their texts with the help of mentors and colleagues. The authors will then be invited to participate in the rehearsals of the public reading that shall be part of a special event at the NTF, directed by Bobi Pricop.”

We will be waiting for you at the public reading on Romanian texts, at this year’s National Theatre Festival!
