THE WALKS approaches the act of walking like a theatrical script: a guided audio walk through parks, supermarkets or timed interactions on water banks. In each city, the voices, sounds and the music transform, step by step, familiar places into theatre sets and scenes, through narratives, dialogues, choreographic explorations or musical and rhythmical variations of walking. The title of each walk indicates the place or manner in which the walk will take place. ”Playground”, ”At the roundabout” or ”In front of the theatre”.
The stories and the sound universe in these short audio performances can be experienced throughout the world. Thus, THE WALKS connect people from all over by means of a local experience and through an essentially human action: walking. Once the project was launched, Bucharest was joined by other cities like Berlin, Cleveland, Milan, Salzburg or Santiago de Chile.
