Nicoleta Lefter (32), actress of the Odeon Theatre, Bucharest. She plays the main part in “Aliens with Extraordinary Skills”, a performance by Alexandru Mihail, after a play by Saviana Stănescu. „Aliens with Extraordinary Skills“ has been selected for the National Theatre Festival (NTF).

Nicoleta Lefter, how do you see the National Theatre Festival? What does the NTF selection of a play mean to the actor who acts in it?
The National Theatre Festival should be a meeting point of all artists, from all over the country and from all theatres. For an actor in a good/ important part (supporting roles are important too), the invitation to be part of the NFT should mean recognition of his value and of his work.
What is your history with the festival? Have you played in the selection before? How was it?
Many times, yes. I don’t know precisely, I would have to take a look at my CV. But even when I wasn’t involved, I went to see the selected performances, no matter how well or how bad the selection had been conceived. I’m happy to see my colleagues from all over the country; I do admire many of them for their talent and for their professionalism on stage.
What about „Aliens with Extraordinary Skills “? How would you invite a spectator to come and see the play?
I was very surprised that we were selected for the NTF. The UNITER Gala commission didn’t like the performance and the acting in it- we were left out when it was about spreading the laurels around. I’d rather recommend the Bucharest audiences to go see the performances of the province theatres. They can see . „Aliens with Extraordinary Skills“some other time. For those who want to come, I can just say I’ll do my best to play well, so that they don’t get the feeling of having wasted two hours of their lives.
In a gallery of the parts you’ve played so far, where would you place „Aliens with Extraordinary Skills”?
On one of the upper floors (laughs).
Do you, actors, manage to enjoy the festival? Do you find time to go to the shows? You and your friends, at least?
Yes, I do enjoy meeting my actor- friends from Cluj, Iaşi, Sibiu, Brăila and to see their performances.
The NTF has its twenty fifth anniversary this year. Quite an age. Would you like to wish it something?
