Who writes about theater nowadays? (online theater review workshops)

7 – 11 November 2022 | www.fnt.ro
CLOSED CIRCUIT EVENT

For 5 days, students of the Theatrology departments of Theater Universities meet online or live with theater critics and theoreticians in the performing arts field, in order to explore together various approach manners regarding theater reviews and theory.

On 7. November, between 10:00 – 12:00, univ. prof. dr. Marian Popescu will share from his experience, and between 12:30 – 14:00 there will be a meeting with Marina Constantinescu, TV producer.

Marian Popescu –  7 November, between 10:00-12.00 (hybrid) – „Why study theater?”. “At some point I got to think about it, after I was already writing about theater. In order to discover that – if you are lucky enough to have good teachers, important encounters and a little bit of luck – Theater opens ways to things beyond the stage. During this workshop we will try to find answers to issues that are on our minds. If we have no such issues, then we shall be just spectators.”

Marina Constantinescu – 7 November – between 12.30 – 14.00 (on site) – „The theater critic as a companion“. Marina Constantinescu will speak about the role of the critic as a companion of the director, and about experiences of famous theater directors – Silviu Purcărete, Alexandru Dabija, Alexandru Darie.

The project is based on the faith in the future of Romanian theater and the belief that Theatrology departments are true creation labs for the future of this field. It is hence even more appropriate that the National Theater Festival joins educational efforts and creates context for dialogue and fertile contexts.

These workshops, as part of the INTERSECTIONS IN THE NTF: Fluid pedagogics, will be presented by: Oltița Cîntec, Marina Constantinescu, Claudiu Groza, Marian Popescu, Miruna Runcan, Cristina Rusiecki and Maria Zărnescu.
