Where do you draw the line between human life and the digital universe? The audiovisual and non-verbal performance S ECTI VE – [hol’-os] originally invites the spectator into a plausible near future of not only interpersonal communication, but also communication between humans and machines. S ECTI VE is an Austrian duo of audiovisual performers called Arno Deutschbauer and Micha Elias Pichlkastner, that live in Linz (Austria) and Toronto (Canada). The two artists create immersive audiovisual experiences through abstract narratives and emotional journeys that question the ambiguous relationship between man and technology as well as the uncertain territory in between them.
S ECTI VE – [hol’-os] is a performance in which the two artists invite you to reflect on how the members of a community interact more and more using technological methods and devices as well as the ways in which ”processed” information changes our course of understanding the world and the people around us. The show was recorded on 29 September 2023 at HEI – House of European Institutes in Timișoara.
