“Winter, the play by Jon Fosse, is a strange and mysterious love story written by a playwright whose text seems to feed itself from that ethereal writing style illustrated and theorized by Maurice Maeterlinck as “the tragical in daily life”….”
INFORMAȚII
“What is essential is not the exterior dialogue, what is uttered and heard, but the interior one, between the human being and their destiny, and death. The theatrical structure of the play reminds me of another great figure of the 20th century theatre, Samuel Beckett, and his touching potential to invest the ellipse – that is the void, the absence, the silence – with a power generating deep existential meaning. This is the power which allowed the team of this performance to experiment with a new stylistic and spectacular form within an abstract and ascetical set-up – with the amazing and paradoxical capacity of bringing WINTER inside and outside – which creates parallel worlds, where gravity and imponderability seem to merge, and where real and spectral bodies evolve, amidst restrained impulses and devastating passions which talk about loneliness, about the need for the Other and about the difficulty to communicate.” (Anca Măniuţiu)
